Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) Ellsworth Hall - to me, a very important name in the prog genre. In 2017, he released a 15-minute song, which I regard as one of the best epic tracks in prog history ("A Home In Your Thoughts / Second Home In Your Thoughts"). I'm extemely picky with tracks above 8 minutes running time, so this kind of appreciation really occurs rarely. The piano concerto on this album is another exquisite epic work, much better than similar attempts done by others. The soundtrack completes the great impression. Favorite track: Allegro Moderato.

Ellsworth Hall is best known as the frontman: Vocalist and Keyboardist for the Neo-Prog band Aethellis whose self-titled debut album was self-released in 2004 and the follow-up album Northumbria was released by Melodic Revolution Records in 2011 with much praise from fans and critics alike. And so it begins three years later, Ellsworth returns with his first solo album “Conversations with George Edgar Shelby” a classical soundtrack album that features the music from the WWI epic Beside the Manor Selby which Ellsworth directed and wrote.

"The Archduke Earsworth" originally from the three-movement piece The Blind Potentate. Ellsworth performs on a Steinway grand piano along with the vibrant sound of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, to be released in July the tracklisting is as follows.

After purchasing two releases from Brazilian neo-prog band "Ars Pro Vita", which both reminded me quite a bit of ancient "Genesis" treasures, I was suffering from an acute obstinate GRMS (Genesis Retro-Mood Syndrome), in turn triggering memories of this EP, which was buried somewhere deep in my wishlist. Well, my opinion about this three-track release is somewhat split, to be honest: It starts splendid with the 15-minute title track, then becomes so-so with the second track titled "Believe In Somebody", but finally crashes violently on the hard ground of uninspired nothingness with "Janice". The title track, however, is a real killer and the sole reason why I bought this oddly heterogenous EP in the first place. "(Second) Home By The Sea"... er... nah, "...In Your Thoughts", of course, undoubtedly draws on "Genesis" heritage, but in a very charming way. While many 15-minute epics attempted by others run dry after half of the running time, this one takes an excellent instrumental turn after the incredibly catchy first half.
